I am reading DD Literacy Work Stations book....AGAIN! I just feel like I am not doing a very good job with them this year. I have too many "specific" stations and I am having a hard time keeping up with them and my kids are getting bored. Soooo, I am on a mission to revamp and make them work. I am just not able to pull small groups like I would like to! So, as I go through and make changes to my LWS, I will share what I make with you!
The first things that I have are a cover for LWS folders and share time questions. I will post the questions at my whole group area and choose one each day. Sharing is definitely one area that I have NOT been good about. OH, I also made a finished work label. You can prin this and put on one of the pockets of the folder, or use it to label a basket.
I am so thankful for all of you...so, decided to put all of my Thanksgiving items up for sale on my TPT and TN stores. I don't really have my stores to try and make a lot of money. It's nice to help me out with my clip art and font addictions! :-)
You can visit both stores by clicking on the buttons at the right.
Another cute Thanksgiving story! The Thanksgiving Surprise by Peggy Archer. Two pilgrim brothers are hunting for a turkey for their mother and father. The little pilgrim sees the turkey, but leads his brother away from the turkey each time. The turkey finds different animals and asks them where to hide! So, we talked about where the kinders would hide the turkey!! They loved it! The Thanksgiving Surprise
Ok, now that I have your attention :-) I know that a lot of the blogs that I follow have used Dreamlike Magic Designs for their blog design. You should head over to her blog. She gives away the cutest paper packs and even some clip art. Today she added a cute Christmas paper pack to her FREEBIES!! Make sure you follow her...you don't want to miss any of her FREEBIES!!
Ok well...why not, right?! I love these silly little turkeys! Here is a Beginning/Middle/End sheet that they can do after reading this story. I also plan on comparing and contrasting all three stories!
This is another cute story by Steve Metzger. I love reading books by the same author. It gives us an opportunity to compare and contrast the characters and the settings! Since the three turkeys escaped from becoming Thanksgiving dinner on the farm, they were enjoying life on the loose! I created this sheet to use with the story. We talked about sequencing. Well, they did a different activity for each season. I had my kinders draw and write about what the turkeys did.
This morning I read this story to my class. I am sure most of you have read it before, but just in case you haven't...three turkeys decide to have a field day to decide who will be the "special Thanksgiving turkey!" Well, they find out that "special" means they will be eaten for Turkey dinner. The last event they keep running and run away from the farm. That is how it ends! My kids asked me, "Mrs. Lee, where did they go?" Well, don't you just love those great teaching moments!? I quick made this little sheet and had them write/draw about where they thought the turkeys went! They turned out great. Here is a FREEBIE for you! :-) The Great Turkey Race
Here a few places that my kiddos came up with!!
